Fluminense - Ceara
Fluminense welcomes Ceara in round 35 of the Serie A. After this round there are 3 to go and the competition in the lower parts of the table is fierce. Fluminense is 4 points above the relegation zone, on 13`th with 41 points, and 1 point behind the Sudamericana places. With a win today, this being the last match of the round, Fluminense would practically secure their stay, and also would be in contention for international places. It would be a big win but neither team is doing well in the league recently. Fluminense is on a run of 4 matches without a win, with 3 losses, and no goals scored. There was a surprising home loss to Vasco, followed by a Sudamericana loss to Atletico PR. Then a draw with Recife and a loss away to first Palmeiras. Their focus has recently been in the Sudamericana but they have to attend to the league urgently. There were some players injured recently for Fluminense but today are back and they should improve defensively at least. Fluminense has 8-4-5 at home, and that is what keeps them above. They are quite weak on the road and Ceara is the same.
Ceara is the 16`th team with 38 points. They are quite competitive at home but are one of the weakest sides on the road. Along with 3-4-10 away their recent form is also bad losing 4 of the last 5 away matches. They did take a 2:0 win over Cruzeiro so the hosts should be wary. Ceara is the new team in the league and they haven`t really adapted. If they stay it will be a success. They have a few missings today: Romário, Alex Amado, Juninho Quixadá, Reina, and Wesley.
Fluminense has their key defender and captain Gum back in the squad but will be missing the regular midfielder Jadson with also longterm injured Léo, Ibañez, Pedro, Gilberto, and Pablo Dyego.
This will be a tight one but I think Fluminense will prevail in the end.
