England - Scotland
England got off to the perfect start at Euro 2020 with a 1-0 win over Croatia and now they will look to seriously dent Scotland s chances of going through on Friday. Scotland played better than their 2-0 defeat to Czech Republic suggests but they are now on the backfoot in Group D. Games against England and Croatia are their hardest on paper. This is the first meeting between the two home nations since 2017 when Scotland shocked England to a 2-2 draw. The last meeting between the two at Wembley was a year earlier and ended in a 3-0 win for England. The atmosphere is going to be tremendous and Scotland will throw the kitchen sink at England but the Three Lions should really triumph. Jadon Sancho and Ben Chilwell weren t even in the matchday squad to face Croatia so they will just hope to be on the bench at Wembley on Friday. Scotland desperately missed Kieran Tierney in their 2-0 defeat to Czech Republic on Monday but Steve Clarke is hopeful he will return to face England. Chelsea s Billy Gilmour didn t get off the bench against Czech Republic suggesting he is not yet at full fitness. Scotland fans will be desperate to see minutes from him at Wembley.
Clarke will certainly make changes from the side that lost on Monday as they desperately look to stay in the running for the knockout stage of the tournament. Southampton s Che Adams should start after surprisingly starting their opener on the bench. Stephen O Donnell didn t have a great game against Czech Republic and could be replaced by James Forrest.
