Equatorial Guinea - Ivory Coast
Equatorial Guinea finished fourth at AFCON 2015, a competition they hosted, but they failed to qualify for 2017 and 2019 and will look to make a lasting impact this time around. However, they face a tough group opener when they take on powerhouse Ivory Coast. The Elephants are one of the favourites to secure international glory next month having last lifted the trophy in 2015. Jesus Owono recently made his debut for club side Alaves and will be full of confidence for AFCON. Despite is inexperience, Owono is a key man for Equatorial Guinea. Emilio Nsue is a name many may recognise, though there is a distinct lack of star power in the side. Eric Bailly and Willy Boly have endured their injury woes for Manchester United and Wolves, respectively, but should start at the heart of the defence for the Ivory Coast. Wilfried Zaha, Max Gradel, Maxwel Cornet and Nicolas Pepe are battling to flank Sebastien Haller, with the latter pair expected to start.Pick: Over (1.5)
