Espanyol - Atletico Madrid
It has been a very quiet start to life back in La Liga for Espanyol, who gained a reputation over their many years in the Primera for not being the most exciting team to watch. And they haven t done much to shake off that image having returned to the top flight at the first time of asking, failing to score in all of their first three games. Having kept two clean sheets in two games against Osasuna and Villarreal, it was easier to take for the Catalan outfit, picking up two points from two games, but their 1-0 defeat to fellow promoted club Mallorca last time out was a little more alarming. Atletico Madrid, meanwhile, remain unbeaten. They trailed Villarreal heading into the 95th-minute of their last outing before the international break only for the Yellows to score a bizarre own goal. Atletico actually dominated that clash, but were couldn t make the most of their chances. The addition of Antoine Griezmann should help to fix that particular problem, though, there may be better sides to face than a team that has only conceded one goal in three games. Yangel Herrera is out here having suffered an injury that will keep him sidelined for around 10 days. Adria Pedrosa remains a doubt from before the international break, but he should be fine to start. Villarreal loanee Manu Morlanes is expected to come into the midfield to give Espanyol a little extra pace. Joao Felix is back in full training following his ankle operation over the summer, though it s unclear whether he can play here given his lack of match fitness. Luis Suarez is also a doubt following the internationals and did miss some Atleti training this week, so that is one injury to keep an eye on.Pick: 1X
