Girona - Valencia
Valencia were in midweek action, beating Krasnodar 2-1 in the Europa League. They face a potentially tricky night in Russia as a result although would have been encouraged by Rodrigo netting a brace as his return to form continues. With a Copa del Rey Final also to look forward to, Valencia have plenty to get excited about as we head into the business end of the season.
They are still pushing for a top four finish in La Liga with Sevilla’s demise opening up that race. Overall Los Che look capable of coming out on top here. Girona have won just 2 of their last 18 home league matches. That’s a really poor record for a side that does have a fair bit going for it but they’ve really been reliant on away results to keep them out of trouble this term. No side has a worse tally than their return of 12 home points this season in La Liga.
Valencia meanwhile are just in very solid overall form now. They come into this match unbeaten in 12 matches in all competitions and playing much more like the side that cruised to a top four finish last season. They’ve been solid rather than spectacular away but with only a quarter of their away league games this term ending in defeat.
Valencia’s season is now shaping up to be a pretty good one after some shaky beginnings so I m backing them to continue winning.
