Kazakhstan - Bosnia and Herzegovina
Kazakhstan and Bosnia are winless in Group D both occupying the bottom spots on three points. They played each other last time out in qualification and drew 2-2. Kazakhstan are winless in their last 12 but in that time they have frustrated France and held Ukraine to two draws. Bosnia, meanwhile, are just seriously underperforming in this qualification campaign. They have only won one of their last 16 and that was a 1-0 friendly win over Kuwait last month. Even with Miralem Pjanic missing, Bosnia have the players to win this game. Only two points separates bottom and second. Vladislav Vassiljev is suspended due to an accumulation of bookings, while Abat Aymbetov, Azat Nurgaliev and Artur Shushenachev have withdrawn from the squad through injury. Stas Pokatilov wasn t in the squad for the last round of international matches and he will hope to reclaim his place in goal. None of the available strikers have really been around the Kazakhstan squad much in the last two years. Dennis Hadzikadunic is suspended for Bosnia due to an accumulation of bookings in the competition. Key midfielder Miralem Pjanic has pulled out of the squad through injury, while Bosnia have also lost Stjepan Loncar, Mario Vrancic and Mateo Susic. Sinisa Sanicanin has tested positive for COVID-19.
Hadzikadunic and Sanicanin were two of Bosnia s first choice centre-backs so they will both need replacing on Saturday. Sead Kolasinac may move inside as cover with Eldar Civic at left wing-back.
