Switzerland - Turkey
Switzerland need to win here to stand a chance of going through as one of the best third place finishers. They would require a big win over Turkey and for Italy to beat Wales convincingly to take second. Turkey have been the major disappointment at this tournament. Many tipped them as dark horses but they stunk the place out against Italy and looked poor again in defeat to Wales on Wednesday. Even a win here is unlikely to be enough to qualify in third. This fixture is soaked in history so do not be surprised if tempers flare. The problem for Turkey, more so than Switzerland, they just haven t looked close to challenging for three points at this tournament so far. Haris Seferovic had another underwhelming outing in midweek and was actually taken off at half-time. He may be replaced from the start here, not that his replacement Mario Gavranovic excelled. Switzerland fans would have banked on Denis Zakaria being a key player this summer but he didn t even get off the bench against Italy.
At this point Turkey manager Senol Guneş would be well within his right to rip up the team and go with others in his squad. Now highly unlikely to go through, it wouldn t be at all surprising to see some changes from them on Sunday.
